Switch Forwarding
Switch Forwarding sends the press and release of up to eight external switches connected to your Android device to the connected computer. While it runs, Switchify’s own scanning is paused and your switches control the PC. The profile on the computer turns each press into a key, a mouse action, or a Grid 3 or scanning action.
Camera switches are not forwarded; only external switches are.
- Pair and connect the computer. Switchify’s accessibility service must be on and at least one external switch set up.
- Open the Forwarding surface in PC control, or give a switch the Open PC Switch Forwarding or Start PC Switch Forwarding action.
- Choose a profile and choose Start forwarding.
The surface lists your switches, which profile slot each is assigned to, and shows Pressed as you press. If you have more than eight external switches, only the first eight are forwarded and Switchify tells you how many are left out.
Profiles
Section titled “Profiles”Profiles come from the computer. Switchify PC provides three kinds:

| Switchify PC scanning | Your switches drive Switchify PC’s own point scanning, menus and keyboard, using the scanning settings and switch assignments on the computer. Press Select to begin. |
Profiles are created and edited in Switchify PC, not on the phone. See the Switchify PC docs.
- Choose Stop forwarding, or hold any forwarded switch for the hold-to-stop time: 3, 5 or 8 seconds, set in PC control’s Settings. The default is 5 seconds. With the Switchify PC scanning profile, shorter holds run the computer’s own hold actions.
- Forwarding also stops by itself after 60 seconds without any switch activity, when you leave the Forwarding surface, when the connection is lost, when your switch configuration changes, or when scanning on the PC is stopped (for example with its Escape key). Start again after a stop.
